Bio
From an early age MGB owner/builder Steve Ellis started out as a sailor first. He learned from his father how to navigate a boat so along the way he developed a boater’s approach to building. He remembers being asked to work on a great big motor yacht, (110 ft of big), in Gloucester, Mass, during his college days. Steve ended up spending an entire year on that boat and, in general, that, along with his father’s influence shaped the way he thought about living and about building. Build efficient homes around family, optimally use the breeze and the shade, be comfortable, take what you need and nothing more.
When Steve began his career as a builder in Sarasota he renovated older homes certifying them as ‘green’. His first building project was a home of his own for which he received the highest ‘green rating in the state.
Today Steve has earned the respect of many by building some of Sarasota’s finest homes abiding by those same high standards...build green and build smart.
