BIO
Andrew Watson built Built in 2012 out of creative frustration, especially the lack of opportunity to express his own originality while working for another woodworking company. He began as his only employee wearing all the hats; designer, furniture maker and marketer. He already had a couple of jobs sold when he started his business, but after a few months, he really got his big break with the Ulele Restaurant that anchors Tampa’s popular Riverwalk came calling. As luck would have it, two of the architects working on Ulele stopped by. They asked Watson to bid on building tables from scratch for the restaurant, and scheduled a meeting for him with Richard Gonzmart, owner of both Ulele and the famed Columbia Restaurant. Realizing the opportunity at hand Andrew knew he had to appear much larger than a company of one! So he called on friends to come over and run saws and other machines, sweep sawdust and what not...all to make it look like he was fully staffed. And it worked! Watson had ‘arrived’ and the business just kept earning more and more discerning clients. And the rest, they say, is history! Watson’s work can be found in homes and business establishments all over Tampa Bay and beyond.
